Tricia Merritt's debut novel has a little of everything time travel, corporate espionage, sex, and enough pop culture references to satisfy today's audiences. The plot moves along briskly but never leaves the reader at a loss, and the narrator's wry tone is entertaining without detracting from the excitement. This would be a good book to read on vacation, at the beach, or during a commute.
Remember Tomorrow has a little of everything so there is something for everyone to enjoy. I love that the tone of the narrator doesn't take away from the entertainment of the story itself. Alannah is a wonderful, believable character and the journey she takes is an on the edge of your seat read. This is the perfect book to take on vacation with you. I read in a weekend because I couldn't put it down. I just had to know what happened.
At first I thought the basic premise of time travel had already been "done", so was happily surprised at this totally new visioning. As far as I can tell, this is Tricia Merritt's first release (made possible in the new era of e-publishing?). It was such fun that I'm wondering when the sequel will be out! I literally couldn't put it down (oops, there went the weekend), and was left with cravings for 1) gallons o' coffee, 2) retail therapy in Hong Kong, 3) Australian accents, and 4) a long-lost, adoring brother. Great escapist fun; good for a vacation on your couch.
